Board of Directors Team 

Said Abdullah Salim Al-Barwani has been an entrepreneur and consultant in project development since 2009. He has a thorough understanding of regional and global businesses and strategies of business development with a global perspective of financial and economic affairs. From a potential project to its realization, from project conception to project management, Said has always dedicated his continuous contribution to a successful realization of the strategies and shared vision with his clients, partners, and/or their associates, in reaching the objectives with the right risk management plan and exit strategy.

Said has accumulated different expertises in a wide range of fields, including supply and technical/logistical services and support to traders in the mineral field, to mining companies, and road construction companies (and/or their main contractors) in Africa and in the Sultanate of Oman. In Africa, mainly in D.R. Congo, Zambia, Tanzania, South Africa (but not limited to), Said has experience supporting green and brownfields mining projects, including those related to copper and cobalt. He has worked with companies such as Glencore, Trafigura, Impala Terminals, Kamoto Copper Co., Kamoa-Kakula Invahoe Projects, Luisha Mining Ent., Entreprise General Malta Forrest, Luiswishi Mines/GCM, Tenke-Fungurume Projects, and more. In addition, Said has supplied services and supported road and construction companies and forest exploitation and wood processing (tropical timbers).

In the Arabian Gulf Countries, mainly in the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates (but not limited to), Said has supported green and brownfields mining projects, exploration, and turnkey solutions and services for industrial minerals (limestone, dolomite, gypsum, marble, aggregate, etc.), and promoted the potential of the fishing industry in the Arabian Sea (Sindbad Fisheries LLC).

Said has also worked in trading/import/export (between regions or countries within Africa, in the Middle-East, and globally), outsourcing and supply of oil and gas products, chemicals and petroleum products, industrial minerals, strategic minerals, semi-precious minerals, and metals, timber and processed wood, heavy machineries, mining and earthwork equipment, industrial processing plants, trucks, vehicles and spare parts, and fish and meat products.

Prior to his current entrepreneurial and consulting work, Said worked for Petroleum Development Oman (P.D.O. – Shell Oman) from 2000 to 2009 in different positions in the oil and gas exploration, production, and management fields. He also worked for Gulf Business Machines (G.B.M. – IBM Oman) as a products service and support engineer, and Oman Refinery Company (O.R.C.) as a refinery plant operator for utilities and crude distillation units. Said holds an Associate Degree in Science from Midlands Technical College in Columbia, South Carolina, United States of America (USA) and a High School Diploma from CEPROMAD – ECOLE BELGE in Lubumbashi, Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Antoine Metais has over 10+ years of experience in the trading, energy, retail, agriculture, and chemical sectors. He has established business relationships with major companies worldwide, such as RedBull, Coca-Cola, Galec, Sinopec, Sonangol, AWDC, and OQT.

Antoine enjoys taking on challenges to build international partnerships between his companies and global leaders in his various areas of expertise. As a hands-on individual, he has traveled to various locations around the globe, including Uganda, Central Africa, Tunisia, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, the UK, and China, to establish friendly and professional relationships for the development and mutual benefit of 8SI.

A specialist in the banking system and international trade procedures, Antoine has honed his skills in the purchase and resale of metals and various resources from the African continent through the Canadian company 8th Sense Group, where he currently serves as Director of Operations.
